Riverside Basketball Has Busy Week

The Riverside boys' and girls' basketball teams had three games each last week, the boys went 1- 2, while the girls were winless in NEA league games last week. The boys are 2- 13 overall on the season and 1- 8 in NEA league play, while the girls are 5- 10 overall and 1- 8 in NEA play.

The Rams boys' opened the week hosting Lakeside ( 7- 9, 6- 3) and fell to the Eagles by the score of 55- 34. On Friday Riverside traveled to Colville ( 4- 11, 4- 4) and fell in the final seconds 50- 49. A pair of Jake Gaffney free throws put the Rams up 49- 48 with 11 seconds left, but Colville's Luke Anderson hit a layup with 3 seconds left to give Colville the one- point win. On Saturday Riverside hosted Medical Lake ( 1- 14, 1- 5) and the Rams earned a 6142 win over the Cardinals.

The Riverside girls were handed three losses last week, first to Lakeside ( 11- 5, 5- 4) by the score of 62- 28. On Friday at Colville ( 9- 6, 4- 4) the Crimson Hawks won 64- 21, and then on Saturday Medical Lake ( 7- 8, 3- 3) came away with a 53- 31 victory over the Rams, Kaylee Winterroth had 11 points to lead Riverside.

This week Riverside will host Priest River on Tuesday and then travel to Freeman on Friday, girls tip off at 5: 45 p. m., boys at 7 p. m.
