CAN- AM Invitational Results

The CAN-AM Invitational was held at the Kettle Falls Day Use Area on Saturday, attracting 27 varsity, JV and middle school teams. The Lakeside boys won the varsity team competition with a score of 28, well ahead of second place Shadle Park’s 96. The girls’ varsity team winner was Post Falls with a score of 29, while Lakeside came in a close second with a score of 45.

Barrett Poulsen of Freeman was the boys’ individual winner with a time of 16.39 followed by Lakeside’s Hayden Blank time of 16: 53. Rounding out the top five were Shane Johansen of Ferris ( 17: 04), Juan David Martinez of Brewster ( 17: 33) and Mitchell Hanegan of Liberty ( 17: 37).

Post Falls’ Annastasia Peters ran a 18: 04 to win the girls’ race, followed by teammate Kaylynn Misner ( 19: 11), Lakeside’s Sadie Meyring ( 19: 25), Deer Park’s Layne Lathrop ( 20: 07) and Post Falls’ Talia Bonville ( 20: 19).

Runners for both Deer Park and Riverside took part and the Deer Park girls were led by Layne Lathrop’s 20: 07. She was followed by Ripley McNab ( 24: 03), Mikalah Schick ( 26: 32), Erin Kanrilak-Wolf ( 27: 07), and Avery Hodgson ( 27: 09). The boys leader was Avery Newman who finished with a time of 19: 33, he was followed up by Owen Varang ( 19: 39), Samual Bates ( 19: 51), and Aaron Harris ( 22: 01).

Riverside’s lone runner was Angelique Turner who finished the girls’ race in 30: 53.

This Wednesday Deer Park, Riverside, and Newport are running in Colville in the first NEA League meet of the season. On Saturday Deer Park and Riverside will be at the Battle for the 509 held at the Spokane Polo Grounds with races starting at 9 a. m.
